Here we are again facing for another typhoon season. Hope everyone, especially our Philippine government is ready for whatever calamities we are expecting this year.
Let's just pray that nothing like Yolanda will happen again this year. For our telecommunication providers, let's just hope that they are also preparing to avoid the same problem they had encountered right after Yolanda hits the Philippines.
One suggestion is for them to prepare communication facilities which can be installed quickly like the ones that DSWD had installed a day after typhoon Yolanda devastated Tacloban.
This blogsite will help those people looking for information about satellite services, satellite capacity (bandwidth), earth station equipment, VSAT, approximate service and bandwidth prices, etc.

IPSTAR In Action in Tacloban After Typhoon Yolanda Hit the Area
DSWD used IPSTAR broadband satellite technology to provide connectivity services to the affected people in Tacloban a day after typhoon Yolanda devastated the area. The two photos above paint a million words to describe how difficult the situation was. IPSTAR technology provided voice VoIP, and Internet connectivity to the suvivors to inform their families, relatives, love ones and friends of their current situation. The existing telcos were paralyzed due to extremely huge damage brought by the typhoon Yolanda and for several days, it could do nothing except to start clearing up the areas where its telecommunication infrastructures were totaly demolished.
