A satellite owner and operator, and telecommunication service provider based in Thailand in partnership with one of the biggest telecommunication providers in the Philippines is looking for distributors for its Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite TV receiving sets in the Philippines. It will launch its DTH satellite TV (DSTV), or simply DTV in the country two to three months from now.
Unlike the existing DTH operator in the country, this company will initially carry eight to 10 local TV channels and five international channels plus some HD channels. In the long run, the number of channels will increase every now and then.
On the positive side, the company will not ask for a monthly subscription from its subscribers. Subscribers in this sense are those who bought its DTV units and install them in their houses. The cost of the DTV equipments is very competitive. At the same price with the existing competitors, you will still manage to have a profit of 30 to 50 %, plus the installation cost (800 to 1,500 pesos) which is separate from the cost of the said DTV equipments or DTV receiving units.
